Nice To Meet You

I’m Charlene Harvey-Gallant, a published children’s book author with more than 500 odd articles under my belt.  What can I say? I love to write! I am also a semi-pro photographer with a wicked sense of humor and a weakness for coffee (& chocolate, okay yes carbs too!)

I am a weird combination of book-worm and movie-buff. Married to a handsome nerd for almost 21 years and have three beautiful kiddies. We sadly lost one of our kids (our eldest son) in 2020 at the age of 16, his name was Jaden and he was an amazing little guy.

Jaden taught me so much all without saying a word, this blog is inspired by him. This journey of parenthood and motherhood is a special kinda ‘hood’. Throw in special-needs parent, care-giver parent then working grieving parent then it becomes a Molotov cocktail of note.

So what am I working on now? Well, I’m currently writing my memoir ‘Broken Wings’, editing my romance novel and preparing to launch my new children’s books. Stay tuned!

My latest published book

Do you wish you were a Superhero? Do you wish you were special in some way? Well, so does Jake….But is he a Superhero? This simply illustrated short story for children is empowering and perfect (for kids: ages 4-10) as it appeals to their secret desire of being a kid superhero.

You will be drawn into Jake’s world to help your kids learn to be brave and stimulate your child with the optional coloring book feature. Jake the superhero is one of those stories to make you feel good and encourage imagination.

This book was based on my cutie pie youngest son, Caleb and a conversation I had with him about his heart murmur.

Coming Soon

‘Gabby is Different’ is  my new children’s book about a little girl who thinks  that she is ugly, all because of stereotypes and the belief  that to be pretty you need to look a certain way.

This book is about building healthy self-esteem and self-image especially in little girls, it is about loving who you are. This book is based on my lovely daughter, Elana and a conversation my hubby had with her about her curly hair (and little freckles).
