I’m Charlene Harvey-Gallant, a published children’s book author with more than 500 odd articles under my belt. What can I say? I love to write! I am also a semi-pro photographer with a wicked sense of humor. Also a weight loss warrior with a weakness for coffee and chocolate ( okay yes, carbs too!)
A weird combination of bookworm, movie-buff, with a side of fitness junkie. I’ve been married to a handsome nerd for almost 23 years with three beautiful kiddies. We sadly lost one of our kids (eldest son) in 2020 at the age of 16. His name was Jaden, and he was my sunshine. Jaden taught me so much, all without saying a word…this blog is inspired by him.
This journey of parenthood and motherhood is a special kinda ‘hood’. Here you’ll find honest conversations about parenting, caregiving, relationships, personal well-being, mental health, faith, fitness, and the wonderfully imperfect journey of life. I write from my own experiences, supported by my counselling certification and my studies as a Bible college student.
My hope is simply to encourage, inspire, make you laugh, and remind you that you’re never alone in life’s ups and downs. Please remember that everything shared on this blog reflects my personal experiences, opinions, and research. Hence It should not be considered medical, mental health, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
I’m a Level 6 Google Maps Local Guide, which basically means I have an excuse to photograph places, try things, share honest reviews, and drag my family along for the adventure (I have a clickable link in my contact profile).
I’m also working on a book, Broken Wings, preparing more children’s books, doing my best to grow this blog, and mostly trying to convince myself that I’m organised. There may be coffee, definitely some writing (possibly a song or three), and knowing me, a little chaos will sneak in somewhere. So, grab a beverage of choice, get comfortable, and stay awhile.
Welcome to my little corner of the internet — I’m really glad you’re here.
